1. NESTMA members come from all segments of the sports turf industry: municipal parks, public & private schools, universities, community, colleges, professional stadiums, educators and vendors.
2. The association works in cooperation with local, regional and national sports, grounds landscape and other related organizations.
3. A Board of Directors Representative of the membership is elected to govern and lead the association.

Goals and Objectives

1. To encourage excellence in the profession of sports turf management.
2. To provide an opportunity for those in the sports turf industry to share knowledge and experience for better and safer sports turf areas.
3. To collect and disseminate scientific, educational and practical information for the construction and maintenance of safer and better playing surfaces.
4. To provide scholarships to deserving students following a course of study in the area of sports turf management, so as to develop and encourage professional excellence in the future leaders of the sports turf industry.
5. To provide monies for research and development of playing surfaces, facilities and quality sports turfgrasses.
6. To promote the design, development and use of related materials, supplies and equipment for the sports turf industry.
7. To cooperate with the National Sports Turf Managers Association in an endeavor to enhance the level of professionalism of the industry.
